A Study On The Method Of E-C Translation Of Military English From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

Nowadays,China’s military has been facing new challenges,and learning from foreign advanced technological achievements and ideas is of great significance to our country’s technological progress.The translation of military English texts is greatly influenced by their text types.There are great differences in the linguistic habits between English and Chinese,which requires translators to adopt flexible translation methods in the process of translation to achieve the desired effect of the translated text.In view of this situation,this report adopts the text typology theory of Peter Newmark,a famous British translation theorist.Next,in the levels of vocabulary,sentences,paragraphs and contexts,this report performs case analysis and pins down eight translation methods,including terminology specification method,word meaning addition and subtraction method,lexical conversion method,structural compliance method,structural remodeling method,morphological transformation method,repetition and illumination method,and logical adjustment method,to guide the translation of military English texts.
