Self-salvation In Kenzaburō (?)e’s Literature

In 1994,Kenzaburō (?)e won the Nobel Prize for literature with his unique literary style and distinctive humanistic spirit,and occupies an important position in the literary world of Japan and the world.In the 21 st century,(?)e created three novels with Kogito as the protagonist,namely Changeling(2000),The Douji who looks melancholy(2002)and Goodbye,My Book!(2005).It is known as the trilogy of "Pseudo Couple".It tells that the protagonist has encountered a series of life changes and psychological impact,and finally reborn after difficult exploration in thought and action.The theme of self salvation is (?)e’s thinking and expression of literature and the times after entering the new century,which is of profound significance to the interpretation of (?)e’s literature and contemporary humanistic spirit.Taking the trilogy as the text,combined with existentialism theory,Japanese social reality and historical background,this paper analyzes the way of self salvation of Kogito,in order to explore the humanistic theme and era significance of (?)e’s literature.The main body of the thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter from violence,trauma and other four aspects to discuss the absurd experience of Kogito.The suicide of his friend made Kogito fall into loss and fear.He could not understand the meaning of his own existence,could not get rid of all kinds of violent threats in the surrounding world and the traumatic memory of his youth,and tried to escape from reality in the way of "self deception",but the negative degradation in life exacerbated his sense of futility and self alienation.The second chapter discusses the spiritual exploration of Kogito,focusing on "The one hundred-day quarantine" and "re reading",emphasizing the importance of "cogito".The dialogue with friends,the thinking of life experience and the interpretation of famous works make him dispel his loneliness and alienation from the world in the image of a "thinker",obtain the motivation to overcome the irrational self,and devote himself to the absurd and dark reality to find the meaning of life and the way out of reality.The third chapter discusses the declaration of war between the Kogito and the absurd world,and analyzes the strength and value of his action from the perspective of existentialism.He obtained friendship by reorganizing the "couple",and returned to his hometown in the way of seeking roots,facing the past and looking for forgotten,obscured and even rewritten history.In the face of violence again,he chose to take the initiative to reveal the dark and violent side of the real society to the world.Even if his action failed,as a writer,he still chose to "intervene" in the reality,record the historical truth and potential crises,and expect the younger generation to read and understand its true meaning.The fourth chapter discusses the meaning of "The New Man".Focusing on the image of "Douji" throughout the trilogy,a series of "adventures" of Kogito and the character setting of "couple",this paper explains (?)e’s enthusiastic expectations and humanistic ideals for the "The New Man" of the times.As a "person in the new era",he should have the consciousness and ability to get rid of the shackles of reality and thought,be able to reflect on himself and make free choices,and become a collaborator and actor,making continuous efforts for the symbiosis between people and nations.Through the above analysis of the way of "self salvation" of Kogito in the trilogy,this paper aims to dig out the solutions provided by (?)e for various crises in reality.(?)e does not escape,but always responded positively as a fighter..Therefore,the humanistic care permeated in the trilogy is of great significance to the realization of "self salvation" for individuals,nations and even the world in reality.
