| This paper was inspired by Tie Ning ’s(1957-)new book With tears in the eyes of the ear.It includes the dialogue between Tie Ning and Kenzaburo Oe(1935-).They talk about the novel creation、the literature of responsibility and hope for life.This paper uses parallel research,under the background of Chinese and Japanese culture,with the help of western existential philosophy theory to explore the spirit likeness of Tie Ning and Kenzaburo Oe.Clues from existentialism in the development of Chinese and Japanese literature can be roughly glimpse,Tie Ning and Kenzaburo Oe works in the existence of "orientalize" tendency has its origin as relying on the oriental country’s culture background and way of thinking.Their oriental existentialism is mainly embodied in the following aspects:Their novels all reveal an absurd world,which is not only the absurdity of the external environment but also the absurdity of the characters.Tie Ning and Kenzaburo Oe have their own characteristics in describing absurdity,while Tie Ning focuses on the absurdity of life,and Kenzaburo Oe has the disgusting absurdity of Sartre.However,they have something in common,both from the absurd out of the humanitarian thoughts and of the ultimate human concern.Their work reflects a strong concern for the "lonely individual".The living environment and the changing of the times have caused the loneliness and alienation in their characters,Tie Ning portrays the vagrant,while Kenzaburo Oe portrays the marginal man.When they fall into loneliness,they are all hungry for the essence of loneliness,freedom,and salvation of the soul by transcending loneliness.Sex and politics are also important ways for them to interpret oriental existentialism,and their description of sex is more in backwash to politics.Tie Ning realizes the self-awakening of women through sexual description,and gaines the right of voice under male power discourse.Kenzaburo Oe expresses the loneliness of the protagonist through sexual description,and at the same time realizes the transformation from "sexual person" to "political person".Oriental existentialism comes from the Western existentialism and surpasses it.Through the evolution of the Oriental localization,the existentialism is integrated into the life and ideology of the orientals.The oriental existentialism can be separated from the dependency of existentialism and become an independent literary ideological trend. |
