Sentiments Of Family And Country: A Study Of Red Family Letters During The New Democratic Revolution

Family sentiment means the mission and commitment of individuals to their families,society and nation,containing family virtues,social responsibilities and national sentiments,and is a solid cornerstone for personal development,social progress and national revitalization.The red family letters of the New Democratic Revolution are letters written by revolutionaries to their relatives and friends during the revolutionary process,which witness the magnificent revolutionary history and are a true depiction of the revolutionaries’ struggle for the country and the nation,and contain a strong sense of family and nation.Based on this,the study takes family sentiment as the starting point,explores the value and meaning of red family letters during the New Democratic Revolution,analyzes the rich connotation,characteristics and historical significance of family sentiment in family letters,and proposes a path to inherit and promote family sentiment in family letters,which provides an idea for citizens to cultivate family sentiment in the new era.This study takes the red family letters of the New Democratic Revolution period as the main line of research,takes family sentiment as the entry point,and uses the documentary research method,interdisciplinary research method,and inductive summary method to carry out the research.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introductory part,which describes the selection of the topic and the theoretical basis of this study.The second part introduces an overview of the red family letters of the New Democratic Revolution,including the content,classification and contemporary values of the red family letters,which contain the content of revolutionary predecessors’ concern for the future and destiny of the country,their concern and longing for their families,and their confidence in the future,etc.They can be roughly divided into four categories according to osprey’s relationship,righteousness,brotherhood,and licking calf love,which are useful for contemporary youth to enhance their cultural confidence,strengthen their ideal beliefs,and cultivate their patriotic feelings.The third part analyzes the contents of the red family letters.The fourth part analyzes the richness of family sentiments in the red family letters,including national sentiments,social responsibilities and family virtues.The forth part analyzes the background,characteristics and historical significance of the era in which the family sentiment in the family letters of the period arose.It arose against the background of the intensification of imperialist aggression against China,the oppression of the people by domestic reactionary forces and the increased consciousness of the awakening of the Chinese nation,and was characterized by value leadership,revolutionary and practicality,and played a positive role at that time in consolidating family relations and conveying the revolutionary situation;shaping correct values and clarifying social responsibilities;and maintaining family emotions and firm ideals and beliefs.In the fifth part,on the basis of analyzing the value of the times of family sentiment in red family letters,the realization path of inheriting and carrying forward family sentiment in family letters is proposed.The inheritance of family sentiment in red family letters can be realized by enhancing the theoretical understanding of family letters,strengthening the protection and development of family letters,and constructing a mechanism for identifying family sentiment;the promotion of family sentiment can be accomplished by enriching the dissemination methods of red family letters,leading family construction with red family letters,and broadening the connotation of family sentiment in family letters.
