A Report On The Liaison-escort Interpretation For Shandong Sailing Team Under The Guidance Of The Communicative Adaptation Theory

The 14^thNational Games’sailing competition began in August 2021.Shandong provincial sailing team participated in the National Games with various boat types.Nacra17 has just been introduced into China,so Shandong sailing team hired a foreign coach from Australia for half a month’s pre-competition training.It required an interpreter to accompany the foreign coach and the Nacra17 sailing team.In the process of interpreting,interpreter encountered many situations that were difficult to deal with.Therefore,after the completion of the interpreting task,interpreter reviewed the recording of interpretation and wrote the interpretation report.This report focuses on the liaison-escort interpretation in the field of sailboat and windsurfing.From the perspective of macro communication and cross-cultural communication,this report uses communicative adaptation theory to analyze the particularity of the accompanying interpretation task of sailing teams,and focuses on the accomplishment of the communicative purpose of the task as a whole.Four strategies based on communicative adaptation theory are applied to further analyze the practical examples.Finally,it is concluded that in liaison interpretation practice,especially in one-to-many practice,interpreters should not only ensure the accuracy of their own interpretation links,but also grasp their role in accordance with the teaching content of foreign teachers at any time,and actively assume the role of the second lecturer.At the same time,in order to better understand the two sides of the dialogue,the interpreter should choose different strategies for interpretation according to the specific context,and complete the communication task more efficiently through the convergence and divergence of speech,the control of dialogue discourse,and the addition and complement of translation for the purpose of understanding.
