A Study On Disyllabic Variant Words In Ancient Chinese Dictionar

As a historical phenomenon,Variant forms of the same disyllable word have existed since ancient times.They are influenced by three factors of characters,language and society,and exist in various historical stages of Chinese history.This thesis is devoted to the study of classical Chinese variant forms of the same disyllable word,taking 1209 groups of variant forms of the same disyllable words in the Dictionary of classical Chinese(Revised Edition)(here in after referred to as "Dictionary")as there search object,making a quantitative and qualitative analysis of them from the aspects of classification,causes and existing condition,on the basis of this,summarizing the existence and normative characteristics of the inclusion of deformed words in the dictionary,so as to obtain the enlightenment of normative deformed words.Summarizing the characteristics of the inclusion of variant forms of the same disyllable word s in the Dictionary on this basis.The thesis is mainly divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds there search purpose and significance,research status,research scope and selection criteria,as well as research ideas and methods.The second part is the over view of the variant forms of the same disyllable word,which defines the scope of the variant forms of the same disyllable word from the four aspects of form,sound,meaning and usage,and distinguishes the four kinds of confusable concepts related to them : synonym,variant Chinese character,variant reading and allotropic word.The third part includes the second,third,fourth and fifth chapters of this thesis,it is the main part of this paper,which makes a detailed analysis and description of the types and causes of classical Chinese forms of the same disyllable word.The second chapter gives a detailed classification description of variant forms of the same disyllable words in the dictionary according to the two types of word formation.Simple variant forms of the same disyllable words include Lian-Mian Words,phonetically-translated foreign words and reiterative locution.According to the structure,synthesize Variant forms of the same disyllable word are divided into compound and additional forms,of which the compound forms are divided into five types:union,deviation,complement,verb-object and subjectverb.Then it classifies them according to morpheme meaning in order to fully display the features and characteristics of all kinds of variant forms of the same disyllable word in the dictionary.The third chapter analyzes the linguistic causes of the variant forms of the same disyllable words in the dictionary,and traces back to them from the four types of characters,such as ancient and modern characters,variant Chinese characters,Zheng Su Zi,interchangeable words,and the two pragmatic reasons,such as corruption and colloquial writing,to show the diversity of their types.The fourth chapter puts the forms of the same disyllable word in the dictionary into the dynamic language environment,and considers that their generation and use are influenced by social development,cultural collision and motivation factors.Among them,the cultural collision produces pure foreign deformed words due to the different translate ration characters and the foreign deformed words coexisting with the local ones.The pursuit of the motivation of language makes the users of characters often add or change the figurative elements of language,which leads to the emergence of Variant forms of the same disyllable words.The fourth part makes a statistical analysis of the existence and standardization of the variant forms of the same disyllable word in the Dictionary in modern Chinese.There are a large number of variant forms of the same disyllable word in the dictionary,and it is found that the standardized ones are universal,consistent and accurate,moreover,the existence and concealment of shapes in the variant forms of the same disyllable words have been standardized,namely conformity,clarity,intonation and word uniformity.The fifth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the previous parts of the thesis,and points out the short comings of this thesis.
