In the history of Chinese contemporary literature,Feng Mu is an important "literature-artist".This importance doesn’ t derive from his senior position in the literary system,but because his resume and multiple identities can be seen as a kind of intersection,showing the relationship between a generation of "literature-artist" and the process of new Chinese literature and art——They are both the dynamic forces that make this process unfold and the objects constrained by this process.This paper divides the process into three historical stages: The "Yan’an Period" from1938-1946,The "seventeen years" period from 1949-1966 and The "New Period" from 1979-1983.By carefully reading Feng Mu’s literary criticism articles and other relevant materials in the historical context,this paper investigates the relationship between the individual literary thought and critical practice of "literature-artist" and the literary system and mainstream ideology of contemporary China,On the one hand,the historical process of Chinese new literature and art is regarded as the path of understanding its literary thought,and on the other hand,the concept change of individual "literature-artist" is also regarded as a perspective of understanding the history of contemporary literature.Feng Mu’s concept of literature and art was formed in the "Yan’ an period",especially after the "Rectification of literary and art ",Feng Mu regarded the mass line and revolutionary literature and art as a broad road completely different from his old and narrow experience,thus echoing the call of The Times of literature and art of workers,peasants and soldiers.During the "seventeen years" period,Feng Mu,who began to work leading in the literary and art circles,more consciously followed the norms of national literary creation and criticism.Whether it is the interpretation of the overall principles and policies,or the commentary of the specific literary and artistic works,Feng Mu’s literary and artistic criticism practice closely coincides with the normative requirements of the dominant ideology.Feng Mu was also involved in many debates in the reconstruction of the literary system in the "new period",especially as the then chief editor of Literature and Art Daily,he should actively maintain the political line and social responsibility of socialist literature and art in various conceptual differences.While treating Feng Mu as a literary and artistic artist in history,this paper also tries to find his appearance as a specific individual in his literary and artistic concept and critical practice,and discusses his experience,interest and emotion as an individual.
