Because of natural damage,man-made damage and other factors,Xiangtangshan Grottoes with beautiful grotto art urgently need to be better inherited and promoted.As a representative decorative pattern in Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes,flame pattern appears in the backlight of Buddhist statues,the head light of Bodhisattva,the forehead of grottoes and the lintel of niches in various grottoes,which fully shows the artistic characteristics of Buddhist grottoes in the Northern Qi Dynasty and plays an important role in the development of flame pattern decoration in China.The brand visual image of the scenic spot is the most infectious factor to convey the information and culture of the scenic spot to the audience.The use of brand visual image design can improve the recognition of the flame pattern of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes,realize the brand series promotion,and inherit the art of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes.The story telling is an effective way to attract the audience of the scenic spot and increase the brand’s influence through the vivid narrative of the scenic spot.Based on the design needs of narrative material mining,this paper systematically combs the flame pattern images of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes,and explores the brand visual image design of flame pattern of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes in combination with the theory of narratology,so as to improve the brand popularity and cultural communication effect of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes scenic spot,and promote the protection,inheritance and promotion of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes art.Firstly,through field research,archaeological typology and style analysis,this paper classifies and traces the form and connotation of flame pattern in Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes,summarizes its decoration type,decoration characteristics and pattern connotation,and provides research basis for its brand visual image design.Secondly,it investigates and analyzes the brand visual image of Xiangtangshan Grottoes scenic spot,summarizes its existing problems,and obtains the design needs of the brand visual image of the scenic spot.Then,according to the theory of narratology,the design principles of people-oriented,integrity and standardization,localization and artistry,difference and functionality are refined by integrating the brand image design needs of scenic spots and the needs of users;Starting from the research content of narratology theory,this paper puts forward the narrative construction strategy of brand visual image design in scenic spots,and establishes the narrative design model of flame pattern brand visual image in Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes;Combined with the characteristics of flame pattern in Xiangtangshan grottoes,the design method is explored;Finally,the narrative design is output under the guidance of narratology theory,so as to verify the feasibility of the visual image design of the flame pattern brand in Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes and the effectiveness of the design principles and methods.The narrative design exploration of the brand visual image of flame pattern in Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes in this paper will help to promote the brand publicity and promotion of Xiangtang Mountain Grottoes art,promote the inheritance and development of the essence of China’s cultural heritage,and also have reference significance for the research of brand visual image design.
