Louise Bourgeois(1911-2010),a renowned artist spanning two centuries,plays an important role in today’s art world.Her works are highly recognizable and attractive,prolific and varied in style and form.Bourgeois’ s legendary life circumstances and unique personal style also enable researchers to discuss and interpret his works from different angles.In her later years,Louise Bourgeois created a large number of fabric works,which were influenced and inspired by the tapestry studio run by her family during her childhood.How Bourgeois returned to the fabric art in her later years,what special emotional significance fiber art has for her,and the value and inspiration of Bourgeois’ personal experience to fiber art creation have space to explore and discuss.This paper focuses on the fabric artworks of Louise Bourgeois fifteen years before her death,Through combing Bourgeois "spiral","femme maison","spider" three representative works series of bourgeois in interview,image analysis,literature research and psychology research methods from the image source,such as work and emotional significance analysis of three aspects to interpretation and exploration of before the twentieth century,to sum up the fiber art contained in the emotional sense,And the uniqueness and universal significance of female emotion expression in fiber art.In The Problem of Art,the philosopher Susanne K.Langer says,"All the tasks that are difficult to accomplish with language--the task of presenting the nature and structure of feelings and emotional activity--can be accomplished by art." The case study of Louise Bourgeois provides a new idea for the research direction of fiber art in the context of contemporary art.Through the feeling of female’s sense and power in fiber art,it creates a more inclusive and diversified space for the interpretation and development of fiber art.
