Louise Bourgeois(1911-2010)is one of the most influential artists in the 20 th and21st century.Her works have a tension that male artists cannot even reach.Many material images in her sculptures continue the image expression in her paintings,but in the eyes of most people,Louise Bourgeois is just an installation and sculpture artist,and her paintings are obviously ignored.Louise Bourgeois said painting was her way of banishing the fear in her heart.This paper will focus on Louise Bourgeois’ s early paintings,explore their similarities and ways of existence,as well as the connotation hidden in the deep of the works--fragmentation seen by the author as an artist,and discuss the influence of Louise Bourgeois’ s works on the author’s creation.The author uses the period of time when Louise Bourgeois created The Destruction of the Father as the baseline.The works before 1974 are Louise Bourgeois’ s early works,and the works after 1974 are her late works.This paper mainly discusses the fragmentation of Louise Bourgeois’ s early paintings and the sources of its fragmentation.The research objectives of this paper are divided into four parts: the first part briefly summarizes the research background,research methods,literature review at home and abroad and the overall framework of this paper;The second part mainly introduces the direct source of Louise Bourgeois’ s artistic creation,discusses how she thinks and expresses her emotions,and briefly describes the factors that influence Louise Bourgeois’ s artistic creation.The third part,with the title of "Broken Pieces",mainly classifies some symbols or images frequently appearing in Louise Bourgeois’ s works,and takes pictures as examples to explain their causes,forms of expression and their meanings.The fourth part summarizes the previous articles and discusses the influence of Louise Bourgeois’ s works on the author from the aspects of emotion and material.Based on the overall understanding of Louise Bourgeois’ s life and her works,this paper has enriched the research on Louise Bourgeois’ s creation through the systematic and detailed form analysis of her early paintings. |
