| Gustav Klimt is a famous Viennese painter whose painting style is very variable,from the initial academic style to the gradual departure from the completely realistic approach and the skillful integration of realism and decorativeness to form a unique painting language.This paper divides the evolution of his painting style into three periods,from the Neoclassical period to the Symbolist period to the Expressionist period,and explores and analyzes the decorative nature of his different periods from the perspectives of graphic planarity,comprehensive materials,colors,and subject matter,summarizing the decorative elements used by Klimt in each period and the ideological emotions conveyed.Klimt dared to break away from the constraints of tradition and innovate boldly,using a variety of expressive techniques and decorative materials,interweaving two-dimensional and three-dimensional,decorative and realistic fusion.These unique artistic characteristics make Klimt’s paintings a combination of tradition and modernity,and this unique sense of decoration has had a profound influence on modern decorative art and opened up a broader path for future generations of art creation. |
