Certainty And Uncertainty

Through the interpretation and analysis of Euan uglow’s works,this paper explains how the painter seeks visual certainty from uncertainty in painting,and analyzes the concept of geometric composition and the classicality in his works by horizontally comparing the dislocation and coincidence between Euan and Giacometti’s ideas on creation.Firstly,this paper makes a theoretical summary of Euan’s works from the perspective of language.Its picture coincides with the "positive law" of ancient Egyptian statues and the appearance of ancient Greek sculptures,which is filled with the effect of silence and eternity.Secondly,this paper explains the space and composition in Euan’s painting from the idea of composition and layout in traditional Chinese painting.Thirdly,this paper describes the accurate measurement mark of ergona as a coordinate point to determine its visual accuracy and reality,showing that it is an uncertain and complex activity in which hand,eye and heart participate at the same time in the face of objective things,including the repeated wandering and focusing of sight,the repeated intervention and control of thought,so that the image modeling shows the simplicity and generalization of sculpture,This reflects the absolute certainty of painting.Finally,from the perspective of the coexistence of challenges and changes in the current digital media era,this paper explores artists in an era full of uncertainty.The core spiritual value of the artist’s noumenon is determined by pursuing the absolute truth in visual intuition.This paper attempts to explore a path to the reality of painting through the deep integration of independent thinking of the objective world and rational and rigorous visual pursuit.
