Research On The Experimental Design Of Seal Character

With a long history of development,the seal script opened the door to the decoration of Chinese characters.Its unique and highly adaptable structure and possession of a decorative base made it active in art forms such as calligraphy,inscriptions and seal engraving,while some characteristic decorative seal script arose and disappeared in the long river of Chinese character evolution.The paper explores the inspiration for modern experimental type design through the study of the thirty-two seal forms,examining and analysing their structural basis,decorative logic and stroke forms from the perspective of type design,followed by an analysis of the seal forms in the form of a grid of modern technology,and guiding the practice of experimental type design.The thesis contains four parts.The first part: an overview of the reasons for the creation of seal script and experimental typeface design,and the reasons for the creation of some types of seal script;the second part: an analysis of thirty-two seal script types from three perspectives: basic structure,decorative logic and stroke form;the third part: an analysis of case studies of the application of seal script in graphic design;the fourth part: an analysis of the seal script grid and an attempt at experimental typeface design by summarising the design method of the logic of change in seal script.an attempt to experiment with type design.
