The meme perspective can be used to explain cultural evolution on the basis of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.It also sheds light on translation studies.Accordingly,Chesterman(1997)proposed the translation meme theory of the evolution and formation rules of translation memes.With the deepening of China’s opening up to the world and the increasing frequency of foreign economic and cultural exchanges,publicity is becoming more and more important.Publicity is an important part of the work of the Yunnan Provincial Government.Report on the Work of Yunnan Provincial Government 2021 objectively and truly introduces the economic and cultural achievements of Yunnan Province to overseas,strives for the understanding,trust and support of the people of the world and establishes a good international image of China and Yunnan overseas,creating a favorable international environment for Yunnan’s modernization.As the main media and means of publicity,Report on the Work of Yunnan Provincial Government 2021 is of self-evident importance.This paper attempts to analyze the translation methods of culture-loaded words in Report on the Work of Yunnan Provincial Government 2021 by using some main translation strategies of translation meme,such as syntactic translation strategy,semantic translation strategy and pragmatic translation strategy.At present,there are few studies on the translation of publicity materials from translation meme perspective.So,it is of practical significance to study the C-E translation of culture-loaded words from the perspective of translation meme.Therefore,the translator should flexibly use translation strategies and methods to achieve the best publicity effect of the government work report.Based on the theory of translation meme,this paper mainly discusses the translation strategies and methods of culture-loaded words in Report on the Work of Yunnan Provincial Government 2021.This translation report consists of six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of translation project,covering the background of the translation project,the main ideas of the translated text and the translation objectives.The second chapter is the literature review,consisting of the general situation of translation meme at home and abroad as well as C-E translation of report on the work of the government at various levels at home.The third chapter is the translation process,which composed of pr-translation,while-translation and post-translation.The fourth chapter is the introduction to meme theory,involved in the origin and the development of the theory as well as translation meme.The fifth chapter is the case study,which,guided by "translation meme",analyzes the translation methods in Report on the Work of Yunnan Provincial Government 2021 by using syntactic,semantic and pragmatic translation strategies so as to facilitate the reading and understanding of the target readers.At the same time,this part also allows international readers and institutions to well understand Yunnan’s foreign trade,foreign affairs,tourism,transportation,scientific research,culture,education,sports,finance and entertainment,etc.as an important reference value.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,including a summary,experiences from the translation project and the limitations of the translation and the recommendation for future study.
