Application Of "Defamiliarization" Artistic Expression In Modern Dance Creation

"Defamiliarization" is a famous literary theory concept in modern poetics of western culture,and it is also an important core theoretical concept of Russian formalism.This paper makes an important analysis of the application of "defamiliarization" in modern dance choreography.In modern dance choreography,the artistic expression of "defamiliarization" refines and unifies the image through body language and expression.Based on theoretical knowledge,this paper analyzes the application of "defamiliarization",an artistic technique,in the specific personal original work "Integration" from the perspective of practice,from three angles:subject understanding,description form and construction of the work.Defamiliarization means removing familiar things from the ordinary and making them unusual,that is,using artistic techniques to make ordinary things in life novel through artistic design.In today’s modern dance creation,the original purpose is to follow and inherit the predecessors’ theories,keep thinking and practicing,and try to break the traditional form,so as to find their own creative ideas and ways of thinking.Firstly,this paper studies the background and concept definition of "defamiliarization" art,and then analyzes the functions of "defamiliarization" artistic techniques from four aspects: image refining,fusion,expression and shaping in modern dance composition.Through my original special show "Integrate",this paper expounds the application of "defamiliarization" artistic expression in modern dance composition from three aspects: theme conception,work expression and work structure.It is hoped that through the study of "defamiliarization" artistic expression techniques,we can make diversified explorations in modern dance creation in the future,and at the same time,we can make more skillful use of dance creation and performance theory.
