In the wave of economic globalization,more and more foreign friends has been being keen on learning Chinese with the rapid development of China’s economy and the remarkable improvement of its comprehensive national strength,which sets off a wave of learning Chinese in the world.Under this background,the “Chinese Bridge” competition emerged as the times required.This competition is a large-scale language and culture competition held by The Chinese-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education(the former Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban)with great and wide-scope influence.The “Chinese Bridge” competition,based on language and culture,has made great contributions to the dissemination of Chinese language and culture all over the world.This study takes the test questions of the 18 th and 19 th “Chinese Bridge”Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students as the research object to analyze the subjective and objective questions from the perspective of contestants.This study mainly classifies the contents of the objective questions and analyzes the contestants’ answers to the questions.As for the subjective questions,this study mainly focuses on the contestants’ application of Chinese knowledge and their own abilities during their expressions.Based on the analysis,suggestions are put forward for international Chinese teaching and learning.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the reason for the topic selection,research significance,research status and research methods.The second part introduces the overview of the 18 th and 19 th “Chinese Bridge” competitions,including organizers,competition mode,competition system,contestants and expert judges.The third part systematically studies the contents and contestants’ answers of the the objective questions of the 18 th and 19 th “Chinese Bridge”competitions from the three aspects of contestants’ Chinese knowledge and abilities,Chinese culture and China’s national conditions.The fourth part mainly analyzes the subjective questions of the 18 th and19th “Chinese Bridge” competitions.This part analyzes contestants’ application of Chinese knowledge(i.e.the pronunciation,the vocabulary,the grammar and the rhetoric)and their abilities(i.e.the oral expression ability,the logical thinking ability and the stage performance ability)on the basis of their statements of the subjective questions.The fifth part,based on the previous research results,puts forward some specific suggestions from the perspectives of classroom teaching contents and forms as well as Chinese learners.The sixth part is the conclusion,which makes a whole summary of the paper and puts forward the shortcomings thereof. |
