The relationship between China and Indonesia has a long history.The Chinese government has put forward the initiative of jointly building "Belt and Road Initiative",which has further promoted the development of two countries relation,and there has been more cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.It has also had a positive impact on Chinese education in Indonesia.Indonesia is a country with thousands of islands and its land area is relative scattered,there are certain differences in the level of culture and education in different regions,include the level of Chinese teaching varies among regions in the country.Jakarta as Indonesia capital city and centre of education,its Chinese teaching has a long history,and there are many investigations and thoughts about its Chinese teaching situation,but there is still a lack of targeted survey on a comprehensive understanding of Chinese teaching in universities in Jakarta.The purpose of this study is to investigate situations of Chinese teaching in Jakarta National University and Al Azhar University.It used questionnaires and interview to explore Chinese teacher condition,Chinese teaching material used condition,and student’s Chinese study condition.This study provided suggestion and countermeasures through the discussion and analyzes of the questionnaires and interviews result.The study found that Jakarta is though a developed region,its Chinese teaching is still facing several academic problems.First,the professional level of Indonesian Chinese teachers has not yet met the requirements of the International Chinese teacher Standard(2012 Edition),and the HSK test level is not up to the requirements of the National Education Standard of the Indonesian Ministry of Education.Second,the relevance,practicality and interest of Chinese textbooks are relatively low.Third,there is lack of language environment,and the participation rate of HSK test is very low.This study analyzes the causes of the problems and provided a suggestion from the perspectives of Indonesian education policy,schools and teachers,teaching materials and students. |
