Research On Spatial Narration Of Jia Pingwa’s Novels

Jia Pingwa is an outstanding writer in the Chinese literary circle in the new era.He has won many important awards in China,such as the National Outstanding Short Story Award,Lu Xun Literature Award,MAO Dun Literature Award,etc.,and also won the American Mobil Pegasus Literature Award and the Highest Honor Award for Literature and Art in France.His novel reflects the obvious spatial narrative characteristics,this thesis tries to reference the narrative space narrative theory newly theory achievement,from the space narrative types,spatial narrative strategy,spatial narrative text characteristic,as well as the space narrative effect four parts to explore the space of jia pingwa novel narrative art,so as to master its ideological and artistic charm of the novel.Firstly,the spatial narrative types of Jia Pingwa’s novels are discussed from the perspective of phenomenon existence,including geographical space,psychological space and subcultural space.The geographical space is influenced by the objective geographical environment,mainly embodied in rural space and urban space.Psychological space mainly comes from the inner heart of the characters and the author,which is manifested as daily psychological space and heterogeneous psychological space.Influenced by geographical space,subculture space forms special cultural contents,presenting folk culture space and mysterious culture space.Secondly,the author discusses the spatial narrative strategies of Jia Pingwa’s novels from the perspective of creation,including juxtaposition narrative,image narrative and image narrative.Juxtaposition narrative is a narrative strategy that makes use of the juxtaposition of the text story space and narrative clues to promote the development of the text story and highlight the spatial sense of the novel.Image narration is a narrative strategy to condense the theme meaning and represent the spiritual meaning through the presentation of images and image groups.Image narration is a narrative strategy to make the environment more three-dimensional and highlight the concrete representation of the text space system.Then,the thesis discusses the spatial narrative text features of Jia Pingwa’s novels from the perspective of text form,mainly including spatial narrative language,spatial narrative rhetoric and spatial narrative structure.At the rhetorical level,the representation of the characters and the space of the prose culture in the story description are mainly reflected.At the structural level,the spatial characteristics of ring structure,box structure and orange flap structure are mainly shown.Finally,from the perspective of literary reception,the author discusses the reception effect of spatial narration in Jia Pingwa’s novels,including the ambiguity of readers’ interpretation,the multiplicity of readers’ dialogue,and the "group" of implied readers.The ambiguity of readers’ interpretation is reflected in the uncertainty of the novel text,leaving readers an open interpretation space.The multiplicity of reader dialogue is reflected in the multiple communication and interaction between reader and text,reader and author,and reader and reader.The "collective nature" of the implied readers is reflected in the "plural nature" of the implied readers,that is,the novel text acts on different readers.This thesis is a multi-angle perspective and systematic description of the spatial narrative art of Jia Pingwa’s novels,which has the value of understanding and inspiration for the spatial narrative art of Jia Pingwa’s novels.At the same time,it is also an exploration attempt of the spatial narrative theory towards critical practice,and has positive significance for the development of the spatial narrative theory and criticism.
