Liu Haiqi is a powerful and exploratory writer in children’s fiction.As an“amphibian” talent,Liu Haiqi has demonstrated outstanding abilities in both children’s book publishing and literary creation,and has achieved fruitful results.Liu Haiqi has written many realistic novels,which cover various themes such as history,human nature,childhood,war,etcetera.Liu Haiqi strives to write about life and the reality of life freely in fiction,and his narrative has a rich and vivid texture of life.In order to tell stories of different forms,Liu Haiqi unremittingly explores the art of novel narrative,and contributes masterpieces with Liu’s style to contemporary children’s novels with a personalized narrative method.It is important for the achievement of the narrative purpose to choose an appropriate narrative perspective.Liu Haiqi flexibly shifts perspectives to cope with the differences in narrative themes.The zero focalization is Liu Haiqi’s commonly used viewpoint in the first stage,through which the narrator can calmly and objectively observe people and events,thereby expressing deep contemplation on history and society.The internal focalization is the perspective mode mainly used by the writer in the second stage,through which the narrator can focus on the principle line,lead the reader back to the real historical scene in the experiences of the characters,and obtain different childhood perceptions.The perspective variation is the embodiment of Liu Haiqi’s sense of narrative innovation,creating an artistic effect of defamiliarization by the switching of multiple perspectives.Countryside and city streets are the narrative spaces that Liu Haiqi focuses on in children’s novels.By poetic descriptions of the countryside and the vivid shaping of neighbors,the writer expresses his nostalgia for local culture in moderation.The work also shows the positive interaction between human and space by the construction of real and vivid scenes,and explores the hidden relationship between narrative space and children’s character shaping and spiritual growth.Liu Haiqi’s narrative language can be easily recognized,by right humorous and personalized character language.Based on the needs of narrative content,Liu Haiqi will choose different language styles.The novel of the first stage uses complicated language to convey the writer’s incisive understanding of the life and the flow of children’s hearts under social change.The second stage of the work focuses more on the individual’s childhood growth experience,Liu Haiqi recalls his own childhood experience,carefully polishes out the “furry” narrative language,which is natural,simple,clean and modest.The writer uses the language of children-orientation to create a group of innocent,brave,optimistic teenagers with primitive vitality.Foreshadowing and cliffhanger,open ending are the distinctive features of Liu Haiqi’s children’s novels.The use of foreshadowing and suspense makes the work integrate in terms of structure and arrangement,and thus effectively enhances the readability of the text.On the one hand,the open ending is Liu Haiqi’s extensive absorption of the thinking mode and art form of modern novels,overcoming the limitations of the closed ending of traditional novels.On the other hand,this also reflects the writer’s good expectations that children can grow up towards a bright and open direction,suggesting that human growth is endless,and then revealing the connotation of growth.The fusion of various narrative strategies constitutes the multiple dimensions of Liu Haiqi’s children’s novels.The systematic discussion of Liu Haiqi’s children’s novels from the perspective of narratological theory not only helps to dig out the deep meaning hidden by the author behind the narrative,better grasp the aesthetic characteristics of the work,but also promotes us to think further about the value and possibility of childhood writing,and provides reference for the artistic development of contemporary Chinese children’s literature.
