Abstract/Summary:
The writing of "returning home" is an important clue connecting the creative process of Mo Yan’s novels. In Mo Yan’s writing of "returning home",the characters in his works can be divided into three categories: weak and degenerated images of children, images of free and rebellious parents, and images of fierce and tenacious women.Through the writing of "returning home",Mo Yan not only confirmed the local home consciousness at the writer’s main level, but also called for the return of the original vitality from the national spirit level, but also expressed his concern for the plight of human survival from the life level. On the one hand, the value of Mo Yan’s writing of "returning home" lies in the writer’s "folk" position, which injects new resources into the contemporary humanistic spirit; On the other hand,it is Mo Yan’s restoration of the complex rural "landscape".In this "unfamiliar" cultural landscape, the writer has rich ideological connotation. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the main part of the paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly analyzes the psychological motivation of Mo Yan’s writing of "returning home".On the one hand, while the perceptual experience of "being in the hometown" brings endless suffering to writers, its unique natural and cultural resources have also become the cultural matrix for cultivating writers’ writing of "returning home";On the other hand, the heterogeneous life experience after "leaving his hometown" triggered Mo Yan’s rational thinking of his hometown, and then made him realize the dual "return" in creation and spirit. The second chapter mainly analyzes the characters in Mo Yan’s writing of "returning home".Generally speaking, the characters in Mo Yan’s "returning home" writing can be roughly divided into three categories: weak and degenerated children’s images, free and rebellious parents’ images, and fierce and tenacious women’s images.Among them, there is a "declining vitality" relationship between the images of parents and children connected by kinship. The writer intends to inject the strong life force of parents into the weak mental state of children,so as to realize the revitalization of national spirit. The female images in Mo Yan’s works surpass women in the traditional sense with the qualities of being fierce, fearless, tenacious and unyielding, and show the cultural significance of stimulating the awakening of women’s consciousness. The third chapter mainly studies the multi-dimensional theme meaning of Mo Yan’s "return to his hometown".Through the writing of "returning home",Mo Yan cut in from the three dimensions of the writer’s subject, the country, the nation and life, and not only realized his self search for the local home consciousness at the level of the writer’s subject;More from the national level,it stimulates the writer’s thinking about the national history and reality, that is,calling for the return of the national spirit with the original vitality; Finally,it discusses the sense of guilt and compassion of "man" as "man" from the dimension of life, thus completing the ultimate concern for the universal survival dilemma of human life. The fourth chapter mainly studies the value of Mo Yan’s writing of "returning home".The value of Mo Yan’s "returning home" writing is first expressed in the "folk" value position adopted by the author. He connects the "folk" spirit in the past history with the spirit of contemporary people, making it an important resource of contemporary humanistic spirit;Secondly,Mo Yan takes "landscape" as an important path to construct his hometown countryside. He liberates the hometown "landscape" from the single description of binary opposition, restores the multifaceted phase of "landscape" and shows the unique connotation of cultural value.
