Wu Jianren was a well-known novelist in the late Qing Dynasty. He wrote three full-length romance novels, namely "The Sea of ??Hate","The Change of Love",and "The Ashes of Jail".The female writings are very unique: The breakthrough of the power perspective is that women have become the center of the narrative, possessing a variety of beautiful qualities and becoming a unique image that crushes men;on the other hand, they cannot escape traditional and feudal factors, that is,women as a Tools, placed in the "second sex" position, passively or actively obey patriarchal ideas. The reasons for this contradiction lie in Wu Jianren’s writing purpose of "recovering morality",the influence of old and new ideas in the era of the transition between the old and the new,and the limitations of his own male identity.Compared with the female writing in other texts of the same period,"Qin Hai Shi" and narrow evil novels,Wu Jianren is more prominent in the shaping of female individuals, and the level of female consciousness awakening is also higher. As a representative of the transformation of scholar-bureaucrats in the late Qing Dynasty to intellectuals in the early Republic of China,Wu Jianren’s works are also representative works of the transitional era.Under the interweaving of old and new ideas,Wu Jianren’s unique female writing is worthy of constant interpretation and interpretation.
