A Report On Simultaneous Interpreting Of Fiscal,monetary,and Economic Challenges Of The Postpandemic Economy

This interpreting material is selected from a webinar with the theme of financial,monetary and economic challenges in the post-epidemic era.In the course of economic globalization,such seminars in which interpreters also play a big role,serve as an important way for experts from various countries to exchange their insights.Guided by Gile’s Effort Model,this report focuses on analyzing the challenges in simulated interpreting task and the coping tactics adopted to address the challenges.During this interpreting practice,the interpreter encountered several challenges,namely terminology,rapid speech delivery,information-intensive long sentences,inaccurate production and numbers.Accordingly,the interpreter adopted parrot interpreting and paraphrasing,induction and omission,segmentation and reformulation,as well as amplification and note-taking respectively.After completing the task,the interpreter made a review of his interpreting quality and others also gave their valuable suggestions.In addition,the interpreter hopes that this task serves as a guidance for future authentic task and provide reference to his peers.
