During the Sino-Japanese War,Japan mobilized nearly 30,000 Korean soldiers to participate in the war of aggression against China.Taking this as the research object, this paper examines the response of colonial Korea to Japan’s war mobilization system and the relationship between this group and the armed forces of the Korean independence movement in China, and then extends the reflection on the fate of small and weak nations under power politics. After the unification of Japan and Korea, the Japanese government attempted to erase the nationality of Koreans from the spiritual and cultural level through the policy of “nationalization”.During 1938-1945,the Japanese government forced the mobilization of Korean youth through the army special volunteer system, the Navy special volunteer system, the student volunteer system and the conscription system in order to solve the problem of insufficient troops. From this point of view, this group is the victim of the war.In this context, the mentality of Koreans is complicated. Most of them resist but cannot refuse, which leads to the behavior of fleeing. After being sent to China, these groups were mainly distributed in the North China Dispatch Army, the Kwantung Army, and the “Manchukuo Army” and the “Gando Army” under the actual control of the Kwantung Army. They followed the Japanese army to commit crimes of aggression against the Chinese army and people. There is no doubt that Japanese soldiers of Korean nationality were the perpetrators of the war.During the Anti-Japanese War,China carried out the policy of aiding the Korean independence movement for a long time.In this situation, the Korean Volunteer Army and the Korean Independence Army armed by the Korean independence movement are actively educating and recruiting Korean prisoners of war in the Chinese prisoner camps to expand their ranks.Under the propaganda and recruitment of the two Korean armed forces, many Japanese soldiers of Korean nationality escaped from the Japanese army and joined them, becoming anti-Japanese forces and expanding the military strength of the two Korean armed forces. After Japan’s surrender,Japanese soldiers of Korean nationality who joined the Korean Volunteer Army joined the Communist Party in the War of Liberation and returned to the North Korea. Those who were recruited by the Korean Independence Army were repatriated in various forms with the help of the Chinese government. In addition, about 10,000 Korean soldiers from the Kwantung Army were captured by the Soviet Union. |
