Research On Pan Zinian’s United Front Propaganda Practice During The Anti-japanese War

Pan Zinian was the leader of the Communist Party of China(CPC)in developing the party newspapers and journals in the Kuomintang Controlled Area during the Anti-Japanese War.The Xinhua Daily and Mass Weekly under his leadership were the primary platforms for the party to convey its policies and mobilize the people in the Kuomintang Controlled Area.This article attempts to sort out Pan Zinian’s anti-Japanese national united front propaganda activities comprehensively.Through the study of Pan Zinian’s united front propaganda practices,it summarizes the differences in the strategies of united front propaganda in the face of different groups,and summarizes the principles and time value of united front propaganda during the Anti-Japanese War,and further reflects the Anti-Japanese national united front propaganda policy of the Southern Bureau of CPC.This article first describes Pan Zinian’s background and motivation for journalism briefly,and reviews Pan Zinian’s journalism career.Secondly,it sorted out pan Zinian’s united Front propaganda activities carried out by Xinhua Daily and Mass weekly during the Anti-Japanese War,and made a detailed interpretation based on historical materials and news reports at that time.Thirdly,the content and principles of Pan Zinian’s united Front propaganda are summarized around these practical activities.Finally,the historical and contemporary values of Pan Zinian’s united front propaganda activities were put forward,reflecting the propaganda policy of the Southern Bureau of CPC.In the introduction part,this thesis expounds the dual significance of pan Zinian’s united Front propaganda practice research to enrich the theory of journalism history and enlighten the present work of the united front propaganda.And makes a literature review from two aspects of Pan Zinian’s Character research and Anti-Japanese United Front Propaganda research,and also explains the difficulties and innovation of this research.The first chapter gives an overview of Pan Zinian’s journalistic life,combing his entire course from participating in the New Culture Movement,to editing progressive publications such as Beixin Semimonthly and The Truth Daily,and then to founding Mass Weekly and Xinhua Daily,which is the epitome of Pan Zinian’s journalistic career.The second chapter mainly introduces Pan Zinian’s united front propaganda activities,involving the process of his struggle with the Kuomintang reactionary forces,the main ways to unite members of the Kuomintang,the content of the cultural united front propaganda work,the means of uniting the progressive media and the specific ways to build mass basis.The third chapter summarizes the contents of Pan Zinian’s united Front propaganda,including mobilizing the grass-roots masses,exposing the acts of aggression,criticizing the traitors,fighting for international aid,maintaining the cooperation between the Kuomintang and CPC,and spreading Marxism-Leninism.The four principles of pan Zinian’s united front propaganda are sticking to the principle of party spirit,getting close to the masses,strengthening the fighting consciousness and cultivating the collective concept.The forth chapter discusses the historical value and contemporary value of Pan Zinian’s united front propaganda work,and summarizes that Pan Zinian’s propaganda work not only created the public opinion environment for the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,expanded the influence of the CPC at home and abroad,but also established a broad and deep mass basis.His experience in united front propaganda has also brought much enlightenment to contemporary united front propaganda and journalists.The conclusion summarizes and sublimates Pan Zinian’s united front propaganda achievements,reflects the united front propaganda policy of the South Bureau of CPC,and evaluates Pan Zinian briefly.
