Research On The Report Of The Chongqing Labor Army Fund-raising Movement In Xinhua Daily During The Anti-Japanese War

During the Anti-Japanese War,Chongqing became the wartime capital,and Chongqing people showed their determination to support the Anti-Japanese War to the end at all costs.The Xinhua Daily,led by the Southern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,was the only publicly issued official newspaper in the Kuomintang-controlled area during the Anti-Japanese War.It adhered that the principle of "Anti-Japanese is above everything else,and everything is subject to the anti-Japanese".It actively responded to the Labor Force Fundraising Campaign in Chongqing,and mobilized Chongqing people through news reports.All forces supported the combat soldiers in the front.Based on the text analysis of 909 reports of Xinhua Daily from the period of its inception to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,this paper sorts out the general situation and focus of its reports in each stage of the development of the Labor Force Fundraising Movement in Chongqing,and analyzes them.The propaganda strategy adopted and the characteristics presented in the report are summarized.This paper firstly introduces the rise and development stages of the Chongqing Labor Army Fundraising Movement,and based on this,divides the "Xinhua Daily" reports on the Chongqing Labor Army Fundraising Movement into four stages for researches.By sorting out the number,genre,source,layout and theme of the reports in each stage,four "Xinhua Daily" were selected,named "Bazaar of the Newspaper","Condolences to the Fighting Soldiers of a Hundred Regiments","Responding to the Cultural Army" and "Donating to the Soldiers in the Liberated Areas".The most concerned report topics at each stage are elaborated,their propaganda strategies and characteristics presented in the reports are summarized,and finally their important roles in the anti-Japanese war propaganda are summarized.In terms of publicity strategy,"Xinhua Daily" first used various headlines to promote.It not only used a single headline for direct publicity and digital objective reporting,but also used compound headlines to mobilize and further expand propaganda with a combination of fact and quotations.Second,it paid more attention to enhance publicity influence through continuous reports and the creation of columns and fixed reporting layouts.Finally,it made good use of the propaganda strategies of authority,model and compensation,and effectively mobilized the people of Chongqing to donate and lose,reflecting the important role of "newsprint" in the mobilization of the Anti-Japanese War.It can be seen that although Xinhua Daily is located in a Kuomintang-controlled area,it still does not forget to promote the CCP’s anti-Japanese war proposition in its reports.Even under the blockade of the Kuomintang news,it still attaches great importance to report the battlefield behind the enemy and mobilizes its readers to console the soldiers behind the enemy.Targeted mobilization of groups such as these successfully widened the “window” for the Chongqing people to understand the battlefield behind enemy lines through the reports on the Chongqing Labor Force Fundraising Campaign,and built a “bridge” for communication between the Chongqing people and the military and civilians in the Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Base.During the Anti-Japanese War,Xinhua Daily played a great role in mobilizing the people to donate and lose,not only fulfilling the sacred mission entrusted by the Communist Party of China,but also accumulating valuable historical experience and reference value for the current news and public opinion in propaganda and mobilization..
