| Since the ambition of carbon peak and carbon neutrality was pledged in 2020,China has expedited the comprehensive transitions across the socioeconomic including energy,land,urban,and industrial systems for purpose of exploring a new growth pathway as well as contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to the global response to climate change.Considering NGOs have been an indispensable part of global environment and climate governance,they have become a bridge for communication on issues of climate and environment between China government and the world in recent years,Besides,it has played an important role as a coordinator,leveraging comprehensive insights to support China’s success in meeting its 2060 pledge of carbon neutrality.For these reasons,the C-E translation of NGO public documents is perceived to be increasingly prominent.However,the present theoretical research and practice concerning NGO public documents translation are quite inadequate and it remains great opportunity for further study by scholars domestic and abroad.The study is guided by the translation variation theory proposed by Professor Huang Zhonglian and the writer selects NGO public documents as the research object aiming to explore the C-E translation strategies of NGO public documents.Firstly,the study makes a detailed analysis of the research status of C-E translation of NGO public documents by quantitative analysis.Subsequently,by a case study,the thesis develops a specific exploration of linguistic features of NGO public documents by applying five variation methods that are addition,deletion,edit,combination and rewriting respectively.The thesis is designed to prove that it is feasible to make NGO public documents translation based on translation variation theory.In addition,the thesis provides a new perspective on C-E translation analysis of NGO public documents and attempts to fill the research gap between the interrelatedness of these two areas.Furthermore,The thesis helps to improve the translation quality of NGO public documents and makes the English version be broadly accepted by target readers. |
