Design And Research Of Suzhou Garden Theme Series POP-UP Books

With the development of the times,the progress of society and the improvement of living standards,people are exposed to more rich and interesting new things and pay more attention to the spiritual needs.Therefore,people’s requirements for design innovation and aesthetic level are gradually improved.As the carrier of information dissemination and cultural inheritance,books have gone through a long process of evolution and development.Up to now,they are the source of human wisdom.But at present,the development of new media technology has changed the way of information dissemination,and people’s reading style has also changed.The traditional paper media is impacted by new media and is facing the challenges of the times.The popularity of e-books and online media makes people’s reading faster and lighter.E-books are much better than traditional paper books in terms of interaction,diversity and timeliness,which makes it more and more difficult for traditional paper media to attract audiences.The emergence of POP-UP Books broke this deadlock.POP-UP Books have the characteristics of space,vision,diversity and dynamics,which are easier to be accepted by readers and meet the requirements of current readers for book reading.The pop-up of three-dimensional structure,the display of dynamic effects and the presentation of picture vision make readers refreshing.The emergence of POP-UP Books has added new possibilities for the innovation and development of book design.As a world cultural heritage,Suzhou gardens are not only the historical treasure of the Chinese nation,but also the source of modern design innovation.In this paper,the four gardens in Suzhou(Canglang Pavilion,lion forest,Humble Administrator’s garden and Liuyuan)are selected as the representatives of Suzhou gardens,and the four seasons of gardens are taken as the design content of books to study the design practice of POP-UP Books with Suzhou garden theme series.Firstly,it expounds the relevant overview of POP-UP Books,combs the development history of POP-UP Books at home and abroad,summarizes the classification methods of POP-UP Books,and summarizes the structural mechanism of POP-UP Books.Through the analysis of cases,the author explains the characteristics and value of POP-UP Books,and summarizes the comprehensive factors affecting the design of POP-UP Books.Secondly,it analyzes the cultural elements of Suzhou gardens,mainly from four aspects:three-dimensional space,plane vision,time culture and garden art,so as to lay a theoretical foundation for design practice.Then it analyzes the current situation of Suzhou garden theme books on the market,finds the problems existing in their content and design,consults and collects the cases of POP-UP Books garden books at home and abroad,and analyzes and summarizes them from the aspects of content,structure,advantages and disadvantages.Through the previous theoretical exploration and case analysis,the design principles,design methods and practical direction of Suzhou garden theme POP-UP Books are obtained,and the design practice of Suzhou garden theme series POP-UP Books is studied.Through the design practice of Suzhou garden theme series POP-UP Books,this paper explores the design method of the combination of traditional culture and humanistic landscape themes and POP-UP Books,so as to open up a new direction for the theme and content of POP-UP Books.Make the past serve the present,push through the old and bring forth the new,combine the traditional garden culture with the innovation of POP-UP Books,and inherit and carry forward the historical and cultural treasure of Suzhou gardens with POP-UP Books as the carrier.At the same time,if China’s POP-UP Books want to go further,they cannot do without absorbing nutrients from traditional culture and combining national spirit with innovative design.In this way,the domestic POP-UP Book design has its own style and content,so it is more likely to go to the world.
