A Comparative Study Of Five Elements Color Words In Chinese And Vietnamese

This paper selects the color words related to the five elements as the research object,and makes a comparative study on the meaning and culture of the five element color words in Chinese and Vietnamese.The colors of the five elements are the five colors that match the five elements of gold,wood,water,fire and earth,or "five colors".Later,due to the diversity of colors,the modern Chinese Dictionary interpreted "Chi(赤)" as "Zhu(朱)and red"and "Qing(青)" as "blue and green".This paper takes 9 words of white,black,yellow,Chi(赤),Zhu(朱),red,Qing(青),blue and green as the research object of Chinese five element color words.The correspondence between Vietnamese and Chinese five element color words is:"white" corresponds to "Bach、Trang","black"corresponding "Den、Hac","yellow"corresponds to "Hoàng、Vàng","Chi(赤)" corresponds to"Xích、Do、Son","Zhu(朱)"corresponds to "Chu、Do、Son","red "corresponds to "Hong、Do、Son","Qing(青)" corresponds to Thanh、Xanh"," blue"corresponds to Lam、Xanh",and" green "corresponds to" Luc、Xanh".Therefore,the research objects of Vietnamese color words are "Bach、Hac、Hoàng、Xích、Chu、Hong、Thanh、Lam、Luc、Trang、Den、Vàng、Do、Son、Xanh "15 words.According to the research framework of Chinese five element color,15 Vietnamese color words are further analyzed and sorted according to word meaning and pragmatic function,and then the Chinese and Vietnamese five element color words are compared to find out the similarities and differences between them.The research results of this topic are helpful to Chinese and Vietnamese,and to remove cultural barriers for communication between the two sides.
