| In recent years,with the development of robotic technology and Artificial Intelligence,researchers are paying more and more attention to how to design neural network mechanisms,so that robots could acquire cognitive ability like human beings.This interpreting material is a speech entitled "Cognitive Development in Humans and Robots",delivered by Yukie Nagai,a professor at the International Research Center for Neural Intelligence of the International Institute for Advanced Studies in the University of Tokyo.This novel,scientific,and cutting-edge speech is selected from the 2020 International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems(IROS).Therefore,the author chooses this interpreting material to do English to Chinese simulated consecutive interpreting,hoping to improve the public understanding of the cognitive development of robots.This report is composed of four parts.The first part is the description of the interpreting work,which covers the source,the characteristics and the requirements of the interpreting work.The second part describes the interpreting process,which involves the preparation before interpreting,the process of interpreting and post-interpreting issues.The third part mainly focuses on the case analysis of the interpreting.The case study is the main part of this report.In this part,under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,the author analyzes some typical cases that are selected from the interpreting material,works on the practical application of strategies such as amplification,transformation,recombination and paraphrasing,and studies the interpreting of attributive clauses and passive sentences in combination with the characteristics of the interpreting materials.The fourth part is the summary of the interpreting practice.In view of the problems and experience in this interpreting practice,the author has made corresponding summary.Based on the actual interpreting practice and in-depth analysis,the author has carefully compiled this interpreting practice report.Through this interpreting practice,the author has a clearer understanding of the difficulty of interpreting,and realizes the importance of complete pre-interpreting preparation and the interpreter’s bilingualism in the process of interpreting. |
