Music and Dance(乐舞)originated from the daily life and customs of ancient human beings, has been the most direct way of expressing human thoughts and expressing emotions.Music and Dance in the Korean Peninsula has also become the concentrated embodiment of the aesthetic consciousness, spiritual culture and social life of its people, and an important part of its culture. In the past, the academic researches on the Music and Dance in the Korean Peninsula were mainly based on the discipline of art, exploring the relationship between the Korean Peninsula and the Central Plains by researching a single musical instrument or dance.Taking the music and dance of the Korean Peninsula from the fourth to the seventh century as the main body, there were fewer works on the characteristics of the music and dance. Therefore,on the basis of comprehensive collection and collation of relevant documents and material materials included in Chinese and foreign historical books, this paper made an analysis of the content of Music and Dance in the Korean Peninsula within this period, exploring its communication with surrounding areas as well as its own characteristics by integrating multidisciplinary research methods such as history, art and archaeology.According to statistics, there were 34 historical records of Music and Dance in Korean Peninsula within this period,15 frescoed tombs and 3 relics with Music and Dance images. With the classification of the musical instruments and dance systems in these materials,it was found that the Korean Peninsula was rich in musical instruments and various dance forms.Musical instruments could be divided into four categories according to the material nature of the vocal parts: string instrument, membrane instrument, blowing instrument and body instrument.Dance forms could be divided into three categories according to the number of performers: single dance, double dance and group dance.Through exploring of the sources of musical instruments of the Korean Peninsula, analyzing the exchange process of Music and Dance between the Korean Peninsula and the Central Plains,Western Regions and Japan as well as comparing the physical materials of each region,it was found that gayageum(伽倻琴),komungo(玄琴),flute(笛)and other instruments used in the Korean Peninsula were clearly recorded as originating from or imitated from the Central Plains musical instruments.Although Gaogouli(高句丽),Paekche(百济)and Silla(新罗)were all on the Korean Peninsula, they had different cultural influences due to their different geographical locations.Gaogouli was deeply influenced by Music and Dance in Han Dynasty,Paekche was deeply influenced by Wuzhi’s Music and Dance, and Silla was more influenced by Tang Music. From the fourth century to the seventh century,Music and Dance in the Korean Peninsula were featured with variety, the Central Plains’s effects and regional characteristics.
