Study On Urban Change Of Hunchun In Modern Times

Since ancient times,Hunchun has attracted the attention of the government because of its unique geographical location.It is not only a border city,but also an important military town.In the 1860 s,tsarist Russia used the Western column to divide China’s territory,and directed the claws of aggression towards Northeast China.At the same time,it forced the Qing government to sign a series of unequal treaties.For the sake of national defense and security,the Qing government had to take corresponding self-help measures to encourage the Han ethnic group in the pass to move to Hunchun,and allow the Korean people who have migrated and reclaimed wasteland in Hunchun area to allow free trade at the same time.As a result,the number of immigrants has increased the population reserve of Hunchun city.From the Xuantong period to the early Republic of China,the number of merchants in Hunchun city has been increasing.At the same time,the overseas trade with foreign countries has been increasing,making Hunchun a transportation hub of China,North Korea and Russia,and gradually becoming a more famous trade city in Jilin Province.By analyzing the historical process of the Northeast Local Government’s response to the sudden changes in the international situation in the Northeast in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,on the one hand,resisting the continuous aggression of Russia and Japanese imperialist powers,and on the other hand,making efforts to solve the increasingly prominent border crisis through immigration and other strategies,this paper comes to the conclusion that Hunchun’s rapid entry into the road of urbanization in the early 20 th century is the inevitable result of history,It is also the mission of Hunchun border city.The full text is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,research significance and research trends at home and abroad;The second part introduces the natural and human conditions of Hunchun City,and explains that good natural advantages and human environment are the basis for the construction of Hunchun city;The third part introduces the urban construction of Hunchun,an important military town,and the formation and development of the border international trade city;The fourth part introduces the characteristics of modern Hunchun urban changes,that is,sound urban infrastructure,the initial scale of transnational population flow,the rapid development of foreign trade and smooth cultural exchange and dissemination.Although there are still some limitations in the urbanization development of Hunchun in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,it has certain enlightenment significance for the governance of today’s border areas.
