With the development of the times,our school teaching practice gradually pays more attention to knowledge and ability,and how to cultivates students’ subject quality and comprehensive ability in many aspects.The new national "English Curriculum Standards" proposes that we should build an activ e teaching system,The development of students’ oral communication skills in English learning has also become one of the important criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of English teaching.In recent years,many front-line primary school English teachers have been trying various new oral teaching methods.Some educators have tried to integrate drama elements into classroom teaching,and found that Drama in education not only increase the interest of primary school students in English learning,but also very helpful for the development of students’ oral English ability.Therefore,the concepts and methods of educational drama have gradually entered the public eye,bringing enlightenment to the teaching practice of today and the reform of English teaching in the future.There has been a debate of educational drama:whether drama should be used as a teaching medium to serve the teaching of various subjects,or should it be used as a complete art subject to cultivate the learners’ drama literacy.We call the former "Drama in education",and the latter we call "Theatre in education".Drama in education integrates "role-playing","situational simulation" and "drama game" into the classroom,which can play the pragmatic function of English as a language subject and improve students’ academic literacy and comprehensive language use ability;Theatre in education as an independent method from traditional teaching method of drama,using English to build a dialogue bridge creates an open,interactive and authentic language learning environment for students,and cultivates learners’ imagination,empathy,self-confidence,creativity and other abilities.The focus of this study is the senior stage of primary school.For this age group of learners,through their previous English learning,they have accumulated a certain amount of basic English knowledge.Under the guidance of teachers,they can have meaningful dialogue and communication.How to maintain their interest in English learning and how to voluntarily and spontaneously use the target language knowledge for expression and communication is particularly important.The author conducted a random questionnaire survey of students and interviews with teachers in two schools of different natures.Through personally participating in the English drama writing and acting of the two schools,as well as sorting out and analyzing the teaching cases and teaching effects,the author found that there are still many problems in the practice of oral English teaching in educational drama,analyzed the causes of these problems,and put forward the corresponding teaching design In order to enrich the theory of educational drama and guide the teaching work of front-line English teachers,the strategies of planning,teaching evaluation,resource selection and curriculum development are proposed. |
