| During the Ming Dynasty,commercial activities achieved prosperity,civic culture developed to an unprecedented height,opera,fiction and other popular literature grew.In this context,commercial publishing gr adually flourished.Nanjing,as one of the important publishing centers of the Ming Dynasty,because of its convenient geographical location,rich resources and culture,had attracted scholars,booksellers and carvers to participate in book publishing activities.The amount of bookstores,type and quality of printed books were second to none.At the same time this was also a period of alteration,social transformation had taked shape in the meanwhile.As a new phenomenon,bookshops and their commercial business were the products of the change,but also promoted,exacerbated it.This paper take the main body of commercial publishing:books quare as the object of study.From geographical and hierarchical flow two angles,discuss the book culture of Nanjing in the Ming Dynasty.Useing research methods of regional history,from a specific period and region to understand the Ming Dynasty social life,to study how print culture of social life at that time had practical impact,thereby to have more vivid and plentyful graspthe of history of the Ming and Qing book culture.First of all,through the book trade between Nanjing-Fujian and Nanjing-Japan,to explore the inter-regional flow of population,technology and capital,and the influencing factors,We can find that there was not a simple resource transfer and interest driven,booksellers adjusted the shape and context of books,based on market orientation and actual demand.And virtually promoted the progress of eng raving technology and enriched reference,batch and other literary genres.Second,from the roles played by literati,businessmen and civilians in the commercial publishing,to explore the era of class-loosening,commercial publishing how to include all the layers into reading tradition,thus expanding the scope and depth of knowledge broadcast.In this field businessman and literati engaged in the same business activities,the boundaries of identity gradually blurred.Finally,from the case study of two Huizhou booksellers,Wang Tingne and Hu Zhengzheng,who ran bookstore in Nanjing.we can find out how printing was used as a means to by the businessmen to shape their own social identity and enjoy their interests.This is where commercial publishing differences between cultural production and general business. |
