A Study On The Creation Of Rwa-rGya Kanjur Printing Blocks And Its Value

This study firstly addresses when,for what reason and under whose arrangement with support was the Kanjur created at the Rwa-rGya Monastery in mDo-sMad.The features of the printing blocks and scripture titles have also been considered.Secondly,how other monasteries from mDo-sMad and their followers made copies of it to become more prestigious and well-known.Then how it became degraded and therefore this study analyzes it based on local legends and related sources that associated with the discovery of printing blocks at vKhyag-Chu Monastery in dPav-Lung.At the meantime,how this monastery was established by the great A-Rig abbot(dGe-bShes),the monastery's traditional rituals,the time when the sub-schools of the monastery were founded and how the Buddhist teachings become flourished there,as a result,there appeared many great scholars and its related histories have been discussed and analyzed throughout this study.
