In the process of implementing the rural revitalization strategy,a series of distinctive and practical cases have emerged in various regions.Guli Street in Jiangning District of Nanjing,Jiangsu Province is one of them.Relying on its advantages in agricultural and ecological resource endowments,Guli Street focuses on modern agriculture in the suburbs of Nanjing, attracting a group of new farmers to take root here, and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization with agricultural modernization. The documentary "Becoming a New Farmer" tells the story of Zhang Biao,a new farmer born in the 1990 s,who started his journey of agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship in the Guli Street, striving to establish a connection between suburban areas and cities. In his first year of entrepreneurship,Zhang Biao fulfilled his original aspirations through setbacks and hardships, ultimately achieving personal growth,as well as creating income for the villagers in Guli Street. This article mainly analyzes the production of this documentary from three aspects: the background and significance of the topic, the elaboration of the process of making this documentary, and the deep thinking that goes with it.In this article, the main problem to be solved is how to improve the visibility and the depth of the documentary on rural revitalization. The author believes that the concept of "using events as carriers" "using stories as methods" and "putting characters in the center" should be followed,in order to deepen the theme, optimize the structure, beautify the audio-visual experience, and refine the characters. In this case, the story of the new farmer and new agriculture can be told more vividly through documentary of rural revitalization.
