With the advent of the era of picture reading,the new concept of children's education has quietly developed and changed.Early reading not only becomes a way for children to instill knowledge,but also imperceptibly develops their cognitive ability.Picture books,as the type of books with the highest contact rate in early childhood,have the characteristics of easy to understand,interesting and artistic,which can meet the development of children's cognitive thinking,reading,aesthetic education and other aspects.The design of children's picture books needs to start from the children themselves,grasp the rules of their psychological changes and development as well as their reading needs,so as to further exert a profound influence on the growth of children.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the intersection between children's cognitive development and children's picture books.This study takes the design of children's picture books as the main research object.Based on Jean Piaget's theory of children's cognitive development,Firstly,the characteristics of children's cognitive development at different age stages and the rules of sensory perception,memory,thinking,imagination and language development are summarized.Secondly,the features and functions of children's picture books are sorted out.On the basis of the existing research results of children's picture book design,this thesis adopts the literature research method,case method and other research methods to verify that the excellent picture book conforms to children's cognitive theory from the design approaches of color,text,modeling,theme and shape material format.Moreover,the reading of picture books can further promote children's cognitive development.Finally,based on the above research basis,summarizes the design methods and design ideas of children aged 3-6 under the cognitive characteristics,so as to With A Cold! picture book,for example,combine theory with practice to form an example of practical exploration of picture book design under children's cognitive development.The purpose of this study is to provide theoretical reference for the design of picture books for children of different ages based on the characteristics of children's cognitive development.The innovation lies in the gradual analysis of design elements in children's picture books based on the characteristics and rules of children's cognitive development at different ages,which is a new way of exploration.
