Research And Edit Of Yao Shunmu’s Chong Ding Shi Jing Yi Wen

As the first collection of Chinese poetry,the Book of Songs has always been one of the key works that scholars in the past dynasties have paid attention to.Chong ding shi jing yi wen created by Yao Shunmu,a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty,is a famous work in the history of the study of the Book of Songs in Ming Dynasty.Chong ding shi jing yi wen consists of twelve volumes,there are two extant editions of the book: the Ming Dynasty version of Wanli Liu Jing Tang and the Qing Dynasty version of the Wenyuan Complete Library of the Four Treasuries,which is better preserved and has more contents.There are more than 50 differences between the two versions,including differences caused by avoiding taboos,as well as errors and omissions of characters.Chong ding shi jing yi wen has a large number of cited documents,and is covered in all the four books,among which the Ministry of Economics is the most.These quotations not only enriched the text content of Chong ding shi jing yi wen,but also provided strong support for Yao Shumu’s interpretation of the poem.At the same time,they could supplement and collate the original quotations to a certain extent.In the exegology,Yao Shunmu urged to return to the original rules and interpretation of words and words,through the original meaning of poetry interpretation of words and sounds,clarified some predecessors had a certain dispute or ambiguous description of the concept.He was able to break away from the shackles of traditional philology,which required "not to break notes",and to conduct textual research and discrimination of the contents of poems in the way of "questioning" step by step.Yao Shunmu’s perspective of Confucian studies takes "respect" and "prudence" from the classics as the core,emphasizing the two to regulate own behavior and thus meet the requirements of education.His interpretation of "poetry" is relatively diverse,can be seen several poems as a whole to interpret,holding that "poetry should be read together,only then can the purview of the deep.It can not only grasp the classical image,the fine flavor of the poem,but also comb the internal structure of the poem to analyze the connotation of the poem.On the basic issues of the Book of Songs,Yao thought that the Feng has a civilizing effect,regarded the Ya as the right music,and valued the role of the Song in the communication between human beings and the gods.At the same time,it can also flexibly use the theory of"Xie Yun" to interpret poetry and highlight the gist of poetry.However,Yao Shunmu sometimes failed to conduct detailed research on the historical background of the poems,exegetical understanding of the text,and made some mistakes in the original sentences of the Book of Songs,which made Chong ding shi jing yi wen not rigorous.However,in general,this work has made some contributions to the interpretation and philology of the Book of Songs.
