The proposition of the research topic "Exploring the ’Natural Non-action’Attribute in Copperplate Printmaking Art" is the result of the combination of the author’s personal upbringing and the outlook for their painting ideals. This paper will start from the Daoist philosophy of "natural non-action," combining the author’s personal painting experience and some painting ideals to discuss the presence of "natural non-action" in copperplate printmaking art.The discussion includes the initial intention and exploration of creation;the thought patterns in the process of achieving the painting and making the plate;as well as the inherent and indispensable "natural non-action" attribute within the copperplate printmaking art itself, delving into the manifestation of the "natural non-action" attribute within the paintings.Through the analysis of the paintings, the paper demonstrates the painting ideals understood in the context of "natural non-action" : embodying the natural realm with the heart of "Daoist principles," and achieving "non-action" by grasping the idea of "no-mindedness." From the philosophical concept of "contentment and constant happiness" to the value of painting creation;from the fundamental principle of "establishing oneself" in painting to the reduced "pretentious" painting emotions;from the painting consciousness of "riding objects to wander the heart" to the formation of the copperplate printmaking’s morphological consciousness of "forgetting the appearance when in high spirits";and from the painting consciousness of "six tones ruin five sounds, literary talent ruins five colors, jade ruins white jade" to the formation of skills application and thought patterns in the copperplate printmaking process. In the process of seeking the essence and prospecting ideals, this paper aims to demonstrate the significance and importance of the research.
