| In recent years, with the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the development of ethnic village tourism has increasingly become an important engine for rural economic development and industrial upgrading and transformation, and the development of ethnic village tourism can not be separated from the participation of community residents.Although there are many studies on the participation of minority community residents in tourism development, why should minority village residents participate in tourism development? How does its internal power come into being? Secondly, what factors will promote residents of ethnic villages to participate in tourism development activities? What path or situation does the residents of ethnic villages influence the development performance of tourist attractions? The previous research literature failed to give an effective response to the mechanism. Therefore, this article takes the participation of residents in the tourism development of four ethnic village communities, namely Pianpo Village,Xijiang Miao Village,Zhaoxing Dong Village, and Langde Miao Village,in Wudang District,Guiyang as the starting point. From the perspective of social exchange theory, qualitative research methods are used to conduct semi-structured interviews with residents in the community, and the collected data is subjected to open, spindle, and selective decoding,Establish a driving mechanism for the participation of ethnic village community residents in tourism development.Taking the theory of organizational identity as the background,a quantitative research method was used to explore the relationship between residents’ participation in ethnic village communities and tourism development performance. The study showed that:(1)the four main categories of expected returns, local attachment, enterprise participation, and government support have a significant impact on the core categories of residents’ participation in tourism development in ethnic village communities,And on this basis,a model of "expected returns scenario participation of ethnic village community residents" is constructed, which forms a driving relationship of "expected returns participation of ethnic village community residents".Local attachment is an internal situational factor, while enterprise participation and government support are external situational factors. The three jointly regulate the relationship of "expected returns participation of ethnic village community residents".(2)This study introduces four variables: participation of ethnic village community residents, community sense of belonging, knowledge contribution of community residents, and tourism development performance of ethnic village communities, and constructs a theoretical model based on "participation of ethnic village community residents-community sense of belonging-tourism development performance".Research has found that community belonging plays a mediating role in the relationship between residents’ participation in ethnic village communities and tourism development performance, while community residents’ knowledge contribution plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between community belonging and tourism development performance. This study is mainly divided into five parts, with the first part being the introduction.Starting from the current tourism environment of ethnic villages, this study clarifies the research background and significance, clarifies the research purpose, research methods, technical route, and paper framework, and proposes the innovative aspects of this article. The second part is the relevant theoretical basis, including Chapter 1 literature review,Chapter 2 related concepts and theoretical basis.Organize literature on the participation of ethnic village community residents in tourism, and further find appropriate theoretical explanations. The third part, which is the third chapter of the paper. This part mainly explains and explains the principle of case selection, uses the coding and decoding technology of Grounded theory,a qualitative research method,to conduct a cross case comparative study of four ethnic villages, and constructs a theoretical model of the dynamic mechanism of community residents’ participation in the tourism development of ethnic villages. The fourth part, also known as the fourth chapter of the paper, conducts empirical research on the impact of the participation of ethnic village community residents in tourism development performance.Based on cross case studies and relevant research findings, this chapter proposes corresponding research hypotheses and constructs a model of the impact of community residents’ participation in tourism development in ethnic villages.Data is collected through questionnaire surveys and quantified using SPSS26.0 software to examine whether the proposed research hypotheses are supported by the data, and to determine the interrelationships between the variables. The fifth part is the conclusion, which is the fifth chapter of the paper.Based on the above exploratory case studies and empirical studies, the research conclusions of this article have been discussed and summarized:(1)The internal driving force for residents in ethnic village communities to participate in tourism development is mainly the expected benefits of residents;(2)Community attachment, corporate participation, and government support play a positive moderating role in the relationship between the participation of ethnic village residents in tourism development performance;(3)The sense of community belonging plays a mediating role in the relationship between the participation of ethnic village residents and the performance of ethnic village tourism development;(4)The contribution of residents’ knowledge positively moderates the relationship between community belonging and tourism development performance. At the same time, the shortcomings of this study are pointed out,and future research directions are proposed. |
