A Preliminary Study Of Yangge Music Culture In Gaoping,shanxi Province

Shanxi has a unique historical and cultural position in Chinese history,enjoying the reputation of "Museum of ancient Chinese culture",and has nurtured many Shanxi folk music with profound humanistic features.As an important opera center of Shangdang Bangzi region of Shanxi Province,Gaoping City has a strong historical and cultural heritage and splendid folk art and culture.As the intangible cultural heritage of Gaoping City,Shanxi Gaoping Yangko is the only intangible cultural heritage project of traditional music,and also an important name card and musical representative of Gaoping opera culture.It originated in the southeast of Gaoping township area,widely popular in Gaoping and Jincheng city.Gaoping Yangko has a history of more than 200 years since the documented years of Jiaqing and Daoguang in Qing Dynasty.It is named Gaoping Yangko because Gaoping people sing it most authentic.It is also known as the Ganban Yangko dance.It was included in the intangible Cultural Heritage list of Shanxi Province in 2012.Today,it is still active in front of the world,its performance activities in the Lantern Festival,temple fairs,festive periods and idle days.Taking Gaoping Yangko music culture of Shanxi as the research object,this paper applies relevant professional knowledge of ethnomusicology,folklore,morphology of traditional Chinese music,traditional Chinese music theory and intangible cultural heritage,from the aspects of Gaoping Yangko’s living space,origin,theoretical definition,musical characteristics,performance and function,current situation and inheritance,etc.This paper summarizes the problems such as narrow way for artists to learn art,aging of professional performers and unstable income,and puts forward specific suggestions.In addition,the author has participated in various yangko singing activities with the inheritors and performers for many times,and summarized the protection achievements and problems of Gaoping Yangko in the present according to its stage performance mode and importance.Finally,combining with the theoretical knowledge of intangible cultural heritage,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the inheritance and protection of Gaoping Yangko in the future.
