Racial attitudes are a hot topic in social psychology.Among them,Racial bias is a long-standing social phenomenon, which has serious harm to both society and individuals. The existence of racial bias will also bring about racial discrimination, which is manifested in negative racial attitudes towards heterogeneous groups and in behaviors that treat other races unfairly. This bias has many negative effects on individuals and society.Therefore,in-depth research on the intervention methods of racial bias is very important.Predecessors have used individualized training methods to intervene in the implicit racial bias against blacks in different groups.Short-term and long-term effects of individualized training interventions were found.Studies have confirmed that Chinese young children have implicit racial bias against blacks,so do Chinese adults also have implicit racial bias against blacks? If so,what is the state of their implicit racial bias, and does it fall into the"strong"category of bias as Western adult whites? Is individualized training effective in reducing their implicit racial bias against blacks?Predecessors used individualized training to intervene 5 times with adult whites, and explored the long-term effect of individualized training, which reduced the implicit racial bias of adult white subjects. So,is it necessary for Chinese adults to undergo long-term interventions? Can it be lowered? Therefore, this study selects Chinese adults as subjects and examines the impact of individualized training on Chinese adults’implicit racial bias.On the basis of existing research, this study adopts appropriately adapted individualized training tasks and Implicit Association Test tasks for research. In Study 1,we first explored whether Chinese adults have implicit racial bias, and the impact of a single individualized training session on Chinese adults’implicit racial attitudes.Study 1 selected 100subjects(Mage=22.51 SD=1.86)to investigate the intervention effect of a single individualized training session on implicit racial bias in Chinese adults through the"pretest-intervention-posttest"method.In Study 2,100 subjects(Mage=20.79 SD=2.05)were re-selected to further increase the intensity of individualized training to explore whether 5 long-term individualized training can effectively improve the implicit racial bias of Chinese adults. And achieve the effect of reducing implicit racial bias. Our results found. In Study 1:First,we verified that Chinese adults have implicit racial bias against blacks, and it belongs to the"strong"type, which is difficult to change. The results are in line with the"Other-Race Effect"theory; Can significantly reduce the implicit racial bias of Chinese adults. In Study 2:After 5 times of long-term individualized training,we still failed to significantly reduce the implicit racial bias of Chinese adults.
