A Study On The Legal System Of Marriage Between Manchu And Mongolian Nationalities In The Qing Dynasty

The marriage of the Manchu and Mongolian ethnic groups in the Qing Dynasty was a legal system formed in the process of the Qing rulers’ policy of "no king in the south,and continuous marriage in the north".The marriage of the Manchu and Mongolian ethnic groups is not only a marriage form in the sense of political convergence between the Manchu and Mongolian nobles,but also a long-standing marriage tradition between the Manchu and Mongols.The legal system of marriage between Manchus and Mongols was the result of the fusion of customs between the two ethnic groups at that time and the need for political alliance in the early Qing Dynasty.Moreover,the Han culture in the mainland of China had always influenced the Qing Dynasty ruling group before and after entering and hosting the Central Plains.Therefore,the legal system of marriage between the Manchu and Mongolian ethnic groups is an institutional culture formed by the mutual infiltration and influence of the marriage customs and cultures of the Manchu,Mongolian,and Han ethnic groups in the process of communication and integration.It provides historical reference for the enrichment and development of the connotation of marriage life among various ethnic groups in later generations.The first part of this article introduces the relationship between the Manchu and Mongolian ethnic groups and the Qing government’s ethnic policies towards the Mongolian region,analyzing the reasons for the marriage between Manchu and Mongolian from different perspectives.The second part discusses the traditional marriage system of Manchu and Mongolian people and the legislative situation of the legal system of Manchu and Mongolian intermarriage before and after the Qing Dynasty took control of the Central Plains.It then analyzes the situation of Manchu and Mongolian intermarriage involving different social classes in the Qing Dynasty,and elaborates on the reasons for the formation of the legal system of Manchu and Mongolian intermarriage and related issues.The third part summarizes the effectiveness of the legal system of marriage between Manchuria and Mongolia,objectively analyzes the characteristics of the legal system of marriage between Manchuria and Mongolia,and thinks about the legal principle of this legal system of marriage,and deeply excavates the value of legal culture contained in it.Based on the investigation of the causes of the marriage legal system of Manchu and Mongolian,this paper summarizes the specific contents and manifestations of the marriage legal system of Manchu and Mongolian throughout the Qing Dynasty,and analyzes the effectiveness and characteristics of the marriage legal system and the integration of marriage legal culture between Manchu and Mongolian ethnic groups.
