In recent years, the incidence of impulsive violent offenders has seriously affected the social security, because it is necessary to explore the causes of crimes committed by impulsive violent offenders.Poor behavioral inhibition is a major cause of violent behavior among impulsive violent offenders.Numerous studies have shown that people’ s behavioral inhibition becomes poor when they are angry. There are also different types of anger, but previous research has less frequently explored the effects of different types of anger on the behavioral inhibition of impulsive violent offenders.Based on the shortcomings of previous studies, the present study will investigate the ability of impulsive violent offenders to inhibit their behavior under moral anger and personal anger through three experiments.First, this study will first explore whether the interpersonal anger-inducing ultimatum game task(AIUG)can induce personal anger emotions through a pre-experiment.Second,Experiment 1 of this study will induce moral outrage through video, and then measure subjects’ behavioral inhibition through a doublechoice odsball paradigm, with the aim of exploring whether impulsive violent offenders’ behavioral inhibition ability under moral outrage emotion differs from that of the control group. Finally,Experiment 2 of this study will induce personal anger through the interpersonal anger inducing ultimatum game(AIUG),and then measure the behavioral inhibition ability of the subjects through the two-choice oddball paradigm, with the aim of exploring whether there is any difference between the behavioral inhibition ability of impulsive violent offenders under personal anger emotions and the control group. The following results were obtained from this study:(1)AIUG is a valid experimental paradigm for inducing personal anger emotions, and the duration of personal anger induced by it is around 3 minutes.(2)Both the impulsive violent offender group and the control group had worse behavioral inhibition in the anger mood than in the calm condition.(3)The behavioral inhibition abilities of the two groups did not differ in the moral anger mood.(4)Both the impulsive violent offender group and the control group had the same degree of impairment in behavioral inhibition under moral anger.(5)The impulsive violent offender group had more impaired behavioral inhibition under personal anger compared to the control group. The above findings suggest that behavioral inhibition is impaired in both groups, whether in the moral anger condition or the personal anger condition. However, impulsive violent offenders’ nbehavioral inhibition was more impaired in the personal anger condition than in the control group. The reasons for this difference were not explored in this study, and future research could continue to explore them. |
