| As a kind of visual art, painting naturally has the function of reflecting reality. The replacement of dynasties and the development of technology will be subtly reflected in paintings through painters. As Shi Tao said in the early Qing Dynasty,"pen and ink should be replaced at any time".Looking at the whole art history, whether in the East or the West, art always needs to be based on the present and reflect the style of the times. The biggest change in modern times is not the natural mountains and rivers, but the cities where they live today.Over the past few thousand years, most of the world’s cities have still been in the stage of agricultural cities.Although they have unique charm, they are ultimately not comparable to the craftsmanship of nature.Driven by the Industrial Revolution, the world’s development speed has shown a rapid growth trend. As a product of social productive forces, cities have undergone earth-shaking changes in the past 100 years.Hundred-foot-tall buildings in ancient scriptures are everywhere today.Compared with mountains, rivers, painters should be more familiar with these steel forests.Urban landscape painting is a young painting that emerged from this unique era.In the past ten years, there has been a lot of research on urban landscape painting, but most of them explore the inheritance and development of traditional pen and ink in this theme from the perspective of pen and ink. This paper uses the planar composition concept in modern design to analyze contemporary urban theme landscape painting.Taking the classic urban landscape painting in recent decades as an example,it discusses it from the perspectives of the form of plane composition and expression, while the author’s creation is expounded from four aspects: element, form, creativity and thought. This paper attempts to study landscape painting from the perspective of plane composition in order to better solve the problems in the creation of urban landscape painting. |
