Ink urban painting is one of development directions of current landscape painting.The city is a product of recent years, and it has brought enormous changes in people’slives. People gradually adapt to the environment of industrialization and urbanizationand can not get rid of that life little by little. Chinese artist living in this erare-examine the surrounding environment and focus on the city gradually. The rise ofInk urban painting is closely related with China’s urbanization process, and influencedby Western artistic ideas. Since reform and opening up, ink city painting as a newfeild in the areas of Chinese painting attracts more and more attention. A lot of workrelated the feild reflect all angles of the urban landscape and scenes of urban life.The thesis involved theory research and painting practice, reviewing andsummarizing different periods of ink urban paintings, and designed to present thefar-reaching significance of on urban painting. Firstly, the thesis revealed the linkbetween the ink urban painting and Chinese traditional painting through analysis andresearch, and digged out the link in the level of the natural aesthetic ideology inbetween. Secondly, the thesis turned to the rise and development of urban paintingstudy, which focused on the course of its development, concluding three periods ofdevelopment. Thirdly, the researcher summed up the characteristics in thedevelopment process of ink urban painting. In the end, the study further research inkurban painting through the exploration of practice, and perceive its innovations, andbroaden our understanding to the Chinese ink painting.
