The characters on Qi pottery in the Warring States Period have been recorded frequently since it was discovered in the 11 th year of Tongzhi(1872).In 2002,the characters on Xintai pottery and Yishui pottery were unearthed one after another,and the writing system on the whole Qi pottery became increasingly rich.The emergence of pottery writing has an important position in the history of calligraphy and typography.Qi series ceramic writing has distinctive characteristics and rich changes in various ceramic writings of the Warring States period,and is of important value in many aspects such as calligraphy and seal cutting creation,and seal study.This article attempts to explore the artistic characteristics of Qi series ceramic writing of the Warring States period through specific analysis and comparison,starting with strokes,knot characters,composition,and many factors that affect ceramic writing,with a view to providing a perspective for the artistic creation of Qi series ceramic writing,Qi series characters,and even the entire Warring States period characters.At the same time,the artistic analysis of aligned pottery writing is applied to the author’s calligraphy and seal cutting creation,thereby strengthening the dimension of calligraphy and seal cutting creation.
