Research On Documentary Creation Of International Students From A Cross-cultural Perspective

The documentary of international students refers to the documentary with international students as the main objects,combining with international students themselves and the events and topics related to international students as the main contents of documentary.Under the background of globalization,the economic and cultural exchanges between countries are becoming more and more frequent,and the flow of international students in the global scope is becoming more and more regular.The documentary of international students,as an video recording method mainly targeting international students,not only focuses on individual fate,conveys humanism care,but also shows the cultural patterns and enhances mutual learning among civilizations.Based on the relevant theories of cross-cultural research,this study uses the method of literature analysis,case study,participant observation and other research methods to restore the cultural context of international students’ documentary in terms of cultural identity,interculturality and cultural identity,particularly to discuss and summarize their creative strategies from the two aspects of documentary construction strategy and video construction strategy.In the end,the thesis elaborates on the creation of my graduation work Chinese Odyssey.It applies the relevant theories of documentary of international students to analyze the above topics into practice.This study believes that the documentary of international students could be served as a documentary,which casts the survival mirror of international students.As a cultural carrier,it builds a bridge of cross-cultural practice in exchange and mutual learning.Therefore,the creation of documentary by international students should be rooted in the cross-cultural context by using various documentary techniques to grasp the documentary’s reality.It stresses the reproduction and documentary of visual language,speech and implication of auditory language in the path of video construction in order to express the artistic tension of documentary.The theoretical and practical boundaries of cross-cultural research could be further expanded,and at the same time the cultural and social value of documentary of international students is highlighted.
