In mass communication,TV documentaries serve as a two-way communication bridge have a wide audience base under their credibility. As a social media, medical documentaries should shoulder the social responsibility of guiding social opinion and promoting social harmony.Since ancient times, the mission of doctors is to save lives and help the injured. They use their professional knowledge, which is not known to the general public,to treat diseases and save people, which puts a veil of mystery over the image of doctors. In today’s world of unequal information between doctors and patients, unstable doctor-patient relationships, and medical disputes, the public cannot have a comprehensive and objective understanding of the real image of doctors, and the relationship between physicians and patients has become increasingly acrimonious. In this social context, medical documentaries are increasingly attracting public attention and discussion.Through their authenticity and artistry, medical documentaries can correct the biased and subjective image of doctors portrayed by other media, and present a relatively objective image of doctors from a neutral perspective. In recent years, there have been many excellent works that objectively present the image of doctors and the relationship between doctors and patients, making a large number of documentaries widely praised by audiences. Most of the current medical documentaries are made in hospitals by means of panoramic documentary films, telling real medical stories through a rejuvenated expression of audio-visual language, documenting the daily work and inner emotions of medical groups, and creating impressive characters with post-editing techniques, thus resonating with the audience. The film is not only conducive to easing the current unstable doctor-patient relationship, but also encourages both parties to compare their hearts to each other and promote the development of medical business. In the process of shaping the image of doctors, the documentary must follow the principle of restoration, that is,to reproduce real people in real life with the help of various film and television means;the principle of reconstruction, that is,when shaping the image of the characters should also comply with the combination of the times and society;the principle of induction, that is,in the combination of grand narrative and micro-narrative,through the image of ordinary doctors,to show the public the actual situation and the real image of doctors in a small way, point by point. The problematic principle is to explore the optimization measures of the doctor-patient relationship based on the current situation, and the ultimate goal is to hope for a stable doctor-patient relationship and better medical services for patients. The documentary "The Heart of a Doctor" takes Zhang Xiaogong as its subject, and portrays an elite expert authority,a selfless pacesetter,a kind "friend" doctor, and a family pillar who carries a heavy burden.
