Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827)was born in the Holy Roman Empire of Bonn.He was a famous composer, pianist, and conductor, and one of the three great masters of Vienna’s classicism. He played an important role in the classical music system, while promoting the development of romantic music.Beethoven created two genres for the cello, namely, five sonatas and three variations. The "Cello and Piano Sonata No.3 in A Major" studied in this article is one of the most distinctive works of these five. This work is different from the other four cello and piano sonatas in that the status of the two instruments is equal, and the phrases in the music echo and interweave with each other. The organic integration of the two constitutes a great movement.Beethoven’s writing continued to try and innovate on the basis of inheriting the traditional writing of his predecessors, and ultimately created his own writing style. The author of this article will be divided into three parts for writing, and devoted to the analysis and elaboration of the piano part of the first movement of "Sonata for Cello and Piano No.3 in A Major".Firstly, starting from Beethoven’s creative background,it extends to the creation of cello and piano sonatas.Secondly,it analyzes the music score itself in terms of music structure and mode, harmony and texture, melody, etc. Finally,it analyzes and interprets the performance aspects in combination with its own performance practice. As the author’s professional direction is piano accompaniment art,the writing of this third cello and piano sonata in A major will involve the cello part, but the focus is still on the piano as the main object of elaboration.I hope to make some discussions on the first movement of this work from the perspective of piano performance, with a view to highlighting its artistic and cultural value.
