Research On The Application Of Dongba Text Visual Design

Dongba script is a kind of pictograph created by Naxi ancestors,known as the world’s only surviving pictograph,also known as the "living fossil" of writing,is still widely used today.The Dongba script has a wide range of contents and rich words,which can record the daily life of the Naxi people and express the rich emotional world.This kind of charming pictograph has simple text form and unique visual characteristics,which has a good application and development space in visual communication design.At present,Dongba characters are in the crisis of disappearing day by day.The author dug deeply into the connotation of Dongba characters and looked for the method and feasibility of visual design of Dongba characters,hoping to provide a new perspective and thought for the protection of Dongba characters through the study of this paper.This paper takes Dongba characters of Naxi ethnic group as the research object,and from the perspective of visual design,makes an in-depth analysis of them,digging into problems such as the difficulties in the inheritance and development of Dongba characters in the current society and the lack of innovation in design and application,and makes a theoretical study and discussion of Dongba characters by starting from the modeling features,symbolic features and aesthetic features of Dongba characters.At the same time,the application cases and theoretical research results of Dongba characters visual design are sorted out and analyzed,and the advantages,principles and application forms of Dongba characters in visual design are summarized.On this basis,a series of works of "Understanding shape and meaning" are created,and innovative practical exploration of Dongba characters visual design is carried out.Through the research on the application of visual design of Dongba characters of Naxi ethnic group,on the one hand,the application value of Dongba characters is enhanced,the regional ethnic characteristics and cultural connotation are revealed,and the design elements of modern visual design are enriched.On the other hand,it gives Dongba script,an ancient pictograph,a new idea to protect,so that more people can know and understand this charming character,and better promote the modern inheritance and development of Dongba script.
